ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Attorney Recruiting Specialist is a critical member of the Attorney Talent team who performs essential lateral associate recruiting duties and advanced level support. The Specialist also assists with the local summer associate program and student recruiting efforts.
Associate Hiring + Orientation
- Provides support in the approval and posting processes for associate positions, including coordinating with practice groups to develop job descriptions, obtaining approval for new positions from the Department Chairs, and contacting agencies.
- Ensures search firm agreements are executed for all candidate submissions associated to assigned lateral associate job openings.
- Assists with the first-year associate arrival and orientation; assists with reviewing orientation material to ensure it is current; recommends updates as appropriate; assists in production of new orientation materials.
- Prepares all relevant ATS notices and other documentation for lateral associate new hires and transfers; oversees and ensures that all necessary departments and parties are informed/notified to facilitate new lateral associate hire arrivals and orientation.
- Responsible for managing the candidate application process including but not limited to screening and reviewing resumes, using judgment and sound understanding of practice needs and standards; checking references of select applicants; coordinating applicant interview evaluations; routing resumes; scheduling interviews; greeting candidates; tracking candidate evaluations and offers; maintaining applicant files.
- Prepares attorneys for interviews. Answers attorney questions, leads briefing and debriefing sessions, and disseminates results to local stakeholders.
Summer Associate Program + Campus Recruiting
- Supports the campus recruiting process including resume review, scheduling callback interviews, and gathering attorney feedback.
- Assists with planning the local Summer Associate Program; coordinates meetings, creates meeting agendas and communication plans, plans and attends events, etc.
- Collects summer associate work assignment feedback and prepares end-of-summer files for offer approval.
- Serves as a consultant to the local Attorney Recruiting Manager and local attorney leaders on hiring needs and practice specific candidate criteria.
- Supports the execution of law school team initiatives and strategic recruiting events to attract top law school talent. Encourages attorney participation.
Data Technology, Tracking + Reporting
- Responsible for the overall data management of all applicant records in the applicant tracking system.
- Monitors and tracks key recruiting data; compiles statistics of attorney new hire data; generates reports upon request; monitors expenses and assists with the preparation of the annual recruiting budget.
General Recruiting + Hiring
- Acts as ambassador for the Firm in all aspects of attorney recruiting, presenting a consistently professional and positive demeanor.
- Works independently and with other members of the Attorney Recruiting team to implement inclusive recruiting plans that support the Firms objectives.
- Applies seasoned and specialized recruiting knowledge and experience to review resumes and applications, conduct and/or coordinate interviews, and make interview and offer recommendations to appropriate parties.
- Establishes strong relationships with prospective hires to ensure substantive, ongoing contact with the Firm, and to promote desired acceptance rates. Provides ongoing applicant communications, guidance, informational and policy assistance, etc.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal and external clients including attorneys, staff, search firms, professional recruiting associations, law schools, etc.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelors degree and 6 to 8 years of recruiting experience, administrative assistant experience, or other related experience.
- Strong technology skills in MS Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity with Human Resources and applicant tracking systems and related databases preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside the firm.
- Excellent organizational, process, and follow-through skills. Ability to prepare accurate, highly detailed work product.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment demonstrating reliability, dependability and flexibility is essential.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work independently. Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.
- Ability to anticipate issues, assess information, make effective decisions, and provide responsive solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines. Ability to handle stressors related to the position and high interpersonal interaction.
- High client service ethic and a proven record in delivering exemplary client satisfaction to external and internal client constituencies.
- Ability to keep confidential any information, observations or viewpoints regarding Firm business matters.
- Ability to act as an ambassador for the Firm in all aspects of attorney recruiting, presenting a consistently professional and positive demeanor.

Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.
